Referral Terms

Last updated: 20/10/2026

These Referral Terms explain how Webshed's referral programme works. They are short on purpose. There is nothing to sign: by sending us a referral (through the form on our Partner Program page or by email), you agree to these terms.

Webshed is Oleksandr Kolchyk, trading as Webshed, a sole trader based in Ireland ("we", "us"). "You" means the person or business making the referral.

1. How it works

You introduce us to a business that needs a website. We take it from there: we contact the business, handle the call, estimate the project, sign the contract and deliver the work. You don't need to sell anything or manage the project. We keep you updated at each step.

Anyone aged 18 or over can refer: former clients, accountants, consultants, friends who run a business. If you are an agency that wants us to build websites for your own clients, our White-label or Embedded tracks are a better fit. Ask us about them.

2. Making a referral

Send us the business's name, the contact person, their email or phone number and a sentence or two about what they need, using the form on the Partner Program page or by email to info@webshed.ie.

Before you send us someone's contact details, please check that they are happy to hear from us.

We will confirm by email within 2 business days whether the referral is registered. Once it is registered, it counts as your referral.

3. When a referral counts

A referral counts if:

  • the business is new to us, meaning we have not been in contact with them about a website in the previous 12 months; and
  • you are the first person to refer them.

If we can't register a referral for one of these reasons, we will tell you when we reply.

We decide whether to take on any project. If the business does not sign a contract with us, no commission is due.

4. Your commission

You get 15% of every payment the client makes to us for their first project: the deposit, each milestone and the final payment. It is calculated on the amount we actually receive, excluding VAT if VAT ever applies.

We pay you within 5 business days after each client payment reaches us, by bank transfer in euro, with a short note showing what the payment relates to.

There is no limit on the number of referrals and no cap on what you can earn.

Commission covers the client's first project only. It does not cover later projects, Care Plan or maintenance fees, hosting, or other services, unless we agree otherwise with you in writing.

If we refund money to the client (for example, the deposit refund described in our Terms of Service), no commission is due on the refunded amount. We will deduct any commission already paid on it from your next payment or, if there is none, ask you to return it within 30 days.

If a client's government grant (such as the Trading Online Voucher) reimburses part of their cost, that does not reduce your commission. You earn on what the client pays us.

5. How we ask you to refer

Please:

  • tell the business honestly that you may receive a referral fee from us;
  • not make promises on our behalf about prices, deadlines, search rankings, results or grant approval. We will discuss all of that with the client directly;
  • not send unsolicited marketing messages (spam) or use pressure tactics.

You are not our employee, agent or partner, and you can't sign contracts or accept payments for us.

6. Tax

Commission is paid in full, without deductions. You are responsible for declaring it and paying any tax due. If you refer as a business, we may ask you for an invoice. If you refer as an individual, we will ask for your name and bank details only.

7. Your data and the referred person's data

We use your details to register referrals, keep you updated and pay you. We use the referred business's details to contact them about their website project. When we first contact them, we tell them who referred them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and your rights.

8. Changes and ending

We may update these Referral Terms. The "Last updated" date will show the current version. Changes do not affect referrals already registered: those are paid on the terms that applied when we registered them.

You can stop referring at any time, and we can end the programme or stop accepting referrals from you. Commission on referrals already registered will still be paid as described above.

9. The legal bit

Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the commission due to you. We are not liable for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction.
